Barça denounces controversial refereeing after Champions elimination
FC Barcelona has expressed its discontent over the refereeing decisions in the match against Inter Milan, which resulted in their elimination from the Champions League.

The FC Barcelona has become the center of an intense debate following their recent elimination in the Champions League at the hands of Inter Milan. The refereeing decisions made by Szymon Marciniak have sparked a torrent of criticism from the Barça environment, who believe that the officiating was decisive in the outcome of the match.

Players like Gavi and the president's advisor, Enric Masip, have not hesitated to voice their opinions. Gavi, in an appearance on ElDesmarque de Cuatro, stated: 'They didn't want us to reach that final. They were scared', hinting at a clear frustration over what they consider unjust treatment by the referee.

The controversial actions were numerous, ranging from a penalty awarded to Inter to a potential penalty not awarded to Barça for a foul by Henrij Mjitarián on Lamine Yamal. These decisions have led the Barça board, led by Joan Laporta, to hold the referee responsible for their elimination, stating that “it was basically due to refereeing decisions that harmed us”.

However, UEFA has backed the Polish referee, considering him one of the best in the world and appointing him to officiate the upcoming Club World Cup. This decision has generated even more controversy, as many Barça fans feel they have not been treated fairly in this competition.

In the mixed zone, Eric García also expressed his discontent, stating that “we all know what happened with this referee”. The player, who entered the field as a wing-back, voiced his frustration over decisions that, according to him, always fell in favor of the opposing team.

The team's coach, Hansi Flick, joined in the criticism, indicating that “every decision the referee made, which was 50-50, fell for them”. Despite his desire not to enter into controversies, his disappointment was evident after the match.

This situation has led many to question the impartiality of refereeing in European football, especially in crucial moments like those experienced in the Champions League. Pedri González also joined the criticism, suggesting that UEFA should review Marciniak's performance, as “there are things I don't understand”.

In a context where emotions are running high, FC Barcelona must learn from this experience and strengthen their mentality for future challenges. Despite the controversy, the club remains steadfast in its goal of returning to the top of European football.
