The Valencia forward will miss the remainder of the season following a surgical intervention, but he could be ready for the UEFA Nations League Final Four with Spain.

Bad news for FC Barcelona. The club has confirmed the absence of Ferran Torres, who underwent emergency surgery for appendicitis. The operation, performed at the Hospital de Barcelona, was carried out by doctors Coroleu and Borras and is considered a success.

With only ten days left in the league, it is ruled out that the 'Tiburón' will return to the pitch this season. Recovery from this type of surgery typically requires two to four weeks of rest, meaning his participation in the final matches of the campaign is virtually impossible.

FC Barcelona, currently holding a seven-point lead in the league, could mathematically seal the title with a victory in the derby against Espanyol. However, Torres' absence will be a significant blow for the team, which has seen him as a key player in decisive moments.

Ferran Torres has had a standout season, accumulating 19 goals and 7 assists in 45 matches. His ability to score in crucial moments, such as in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and in the UEFA Champions League semifinals, has solidified him as an indispensable player for Barça.

Despite his absence from the club, there are hopes that the forward may join the Spanish national team for the UEFA Nations League Final Four, which will take place in June. Coach Luis de la Fuente will announce the list of call-ups on May 26, just after the league concludes.

In a message of encouragement to his teammates, Ferran expressed on social media: "Appendicitis overcome!!! Time to support the team from here to become League Champions!". His competitive spirit and desire to contribute to the team's success reflect his commitment to FC Barcelona.

The absence of Ferran Torres will be felt in the locker room, especially at a time when the team is looking to close the season on a high note. Hansi Flick, the Barça coach, will need to find alternatives to cover the loss of one of his most in-form players.
