In the press conference ahead of the clash against Villarreal, FC Barcelona coach Julian Flick made it clear that his team is preparing to make significant adjustments to the lineup. With only two matchdays left in the league and the title already secured, Flick appeared optimistic and determined to maintain the team's competitive level.
"Yesterday was a day of celebration, and many of our players enjoyed a night out. However, those who can party can also work, so there are no excuses for not giving their best on the field," Flick stated with a smile, referencing the importance of discipline and dedication in sports.
The coach also mentioned that he is considering the possibility of fielding a lineup composed exclusively of players trained at La Masia. "This is something we have discussed internally, but we have not yet made a definitive decision. It could be a viable option, but we need to assess how the team is doing before deciding," he explained.
Flick did not hold back in praising Villarreal, who have had an impressive performance in their recent matches. "They have won their last four games, and the work of their coach is remarkable. It is a pleasure to see how they play football. Tomorrow will be a tough match, and we want to close the season at home with a victory," he added.
The coach also highlighted the importance of celebrating the title with the fans at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. "We want to share this moment with our supporters and finish the season as champions. We have not lost any home games in 2025 in LaLiga, and we want to maintain that streak until the end," he emphasized.
Flick, who was visibly moved by the reception from fans during the title celebration parade, expressed his desire for the team to continue working hard to replicate the success in the future. "The passion of the people for this club is incredible. If we could celebrate every year, it would be wonderful. We will strive to make that possible," he concluded.
Regarding Danish player Andreas Christensen, Flick assured that he has demonstrated his quality in matches and is on a path of constant improvement. "I don't think he has reached his highest level yet, but he is on the right track," he finished.
