Sandro Rosell, who led FC Barcelona from 2010 to 2014, was the special guest on the 'Tot es mou' program on Televisió de Catalunya, where he shared his experience after spending 645 days in prison. Rosell, who was accused of organized crime and money laundering, was ultimately acquitted, and the National Court awarded him €232,500 for his time in provisional prison, a fact he considers a moral victory.
During the interview, Rosell expressed his dissatisfaction with the decision of Judge Carmen Lamela, who, according to him, should bear the responsibility for his imprisonment. "It's not just a matter of money; losing two years of life is priceless," he stated, adding that the real damage goes beyond the financial, affecting his reputation and personal well-being.
"The National Court has acknowledged that it acted unjustly. It's a relief, but the damage is already done," Rosell commented, who also referred to the difficulties he faced after his release, including the struggle to regain his identity and daily life.
Turning to the club's current situation, Rosell did not hold back in praising FC Barcelona, which has had a successful season, winning three titles and witnessing the rise of young talents like Lamine Yamal. "I am proud to have signed his first contract at the age of seven. That's what La Masia represents: investment and hard work," he emphasized, recalling the importance of the academy for the club's future.
Finally, Rosell sent a message to the current president, Joan Laporta: "Jan, think only of Barça, and you know what I mean." With these words, the former president reaffirms his commitment to the club and his desire for it to continue on the path of success.
