Lewandowski reaches the century mark and closes the season with a brace at San Mamés
Polish striker Robert Lewandowski became the first player to reach 100 goals with FC Barcelona in LaLiga, scoring a brace in the 0-2 victory against Athletic Club.

Robert Lewandowski has left an indelible mark on the history of FC Barcelona by reaching the century mark with the club's jersey. In the last match of the season, played at San Mamés, the Pole not only celebrated his 100th goal but also extended his personal tally to 101, once again demonstrating his scoring ability.

The first goal came in the 14th minute, following a masterful pass from Fermín López. Lewandowski, with his characteristic style, surpassed goalkeeper Unai Simón with a delicate chip that left the local keeper with no chance. This goal not only marked a personal milestone for the striker but also represented the 100th goal for Barça in LaLiga this season, a feat not seen since the 2016/17 campaign.

But Lewandowski didn't stop there. Just four minutes later, in the 17th minute, he scored again, this time with a header, taking advantage of a poorly cleared corner by the Athletic defense. With this brace, the Polish forward reaffirmed his status as one of the deadliest scorers in world football, closing the season with a total of 42 goals in all competitions.

A Dream Season

In his third season with Barça, Lewandowski has surpassed his own records. In his debut year, he scored 33 goals, while last season he finished with 26. However, this year he has reached the impressive figure of 42, despite suffering an injury that kept him off the pitch for a while.

With these 101 goals, Lewandowski becomes the 21st highest scorer in the history of FC Barcelona, a club that has seen only 22 players reach the magical 100-goal mark. His average of 0.68 goals per game is a testament to his quality and ability to score at crucial moments.

FC Barcelona bid farewell to the season with a convincing victory in Bilbao, thus securing the domestic treble: LaLiga, Copa del Rey, and Supercopa. Lewandowski, as the MVP of the match, was instrumental in helping the team culminate a year of success, leaving behind a period of uncertainty and restoring joy to the culé fans.

The Pole, after the match, expressed his satisfaction: "We had a plan to win this last match. In the first half, we had everything under control, and in the second, with the two goals, I think we did too. It has been an almost perfect season, and now we must enjoy this moment".

With an eye on the future, Barça and their star Lewandowski are preparing to face new challenges, hoping to continue adding titles and joy to their rich history.
