Joan García Takes a Decisive Step Towards Barça: A Promising Future at Camp Nou
Espanyol's goalkeeper, Joan García, has made the decision to join FC Barcelona, marking a new chapter in his professional career.

Joan García, the young goalkeeper from Espanyol, has taken a crucial step in his career by deciding to join FC Barcelona. After a meeting last night at a restaurant in Barcelona with his agent, Juanma López, and his family, the goalkeeper has given the green light to activate his signing with the azulgrana club.

García's decision has been influenced by the lack of official confirmation regarding his departure from Espanyol and the interest from other clubs, especially from the Premier League. However, the goalkeeper has deemed the Barça option as the most suitable for relaunching his career. “It’s a dream for me,” García stated, eager to wear the azulgrana jersey at Spotify Camp Nou.

The next step in this process will be the drafting of the contracts, which already have preliminary drafts. In these documents, the goalkeeper and his team have requested guarantees for his registration, given the recent issues the Barça has faced with financial 'fair play'. Fortunately, the club has agreed to these requests, facilitating the path to his incorporation.

Once the contracts are formalized, Barça will need to pay the 25 million euros buyout clause stipulated in García's contract with Espanyol. Unlike other clubs interested in the goalkeeper, Barça is the only one willing to pay the clause outright, which has been a decisive factor in García's choice.

Despite the pressure exerted by Espanyol, including comments from their coach, Manolo González, who expressed doubts about the signing, García has maintained his stance and opted for Barça. “The opportunity to play for a club like Barça is unique,” the goalkeeper added, who is also aware of the projection that comes with being part of the azulgrana team, especially in his aspiration to become the goalkeeper for the Spanish national team.

García will sign a five-season contract with Barça, with a salary commensurate with his talent and the possibility of increasing his earnings through bonuses. The arrival of this promising goalkeeper at Camp Nou not only strengthens the squad but also adds a new chapter to the rich history of the club.
