Pau Cubarsí: A Leader at Barça and the Spanish National Team
The young central defender of FC Barcelona reflects on a dream season and his role in the national team.

Pau Cubarsí, the promising central defender of FC Barcelona, has had a year to remember. At just 17 years old, he has been instrumental in securing three titles for the Blaugrana and is now preparing to represent Spain in the Nations League.

In a recent interview on Radio Marca, Cubarsí did not hide his pride in the achievements: "It has been a spectacular season. No one would have imagined a year ago that we would win three titles and that I would be here with the national team". Despite the painful elimination in the Champions League semifinals, the young defender emphasized the importance of the titles won: "We have won the League, Cup, and Super Cup, and that also counts".

The next challenge for the central defender will be Spain's match against France in the Nations League semifinals. Cubarsí appeared confident and unphased by the pressure of big matches: "You do have that little thrill of wanting to win because you represent Barça, but I don't go out nervous".

Regarding rumors about the potential arrival of Joan García to Barça from Espanyol, Cubarsí was clear: "If he comes, he will be welcomed. But I think we are well covered in that position". He also reaffirmed his commitment to the club: "Play for Espanyol? No. I'm very happy at Barça".

The young defender also spoke about his teammate Lamine Yamal, highlighting his competitive spirit: "Lamine likes to silence critics. If they talk about him, he puts in even more effort. He is a magnificent player; what he is doing at 17 years old in the best stadiums in Europe is impressive". This connection between both young talents indicates a bright future ahead.

Finally, Cubarsí is not only focused on football but is also dealing with his studies. "I try to study a bit before exams, although I'm not as good a student as I seem", he confessed, showing that despite his success on the field, he also has to balance his academic life.
