FC Barcelona finalizes Lenglet's departure with significant savings
The French center-back parts ways with the club after a lengthy spell marked by loans, leaving a positive financial impact on the Blaugrana's coffers.

The FC Barcelona has taken a significant step in its financial restructuring by finalizing the departure of Clément Lenglet, who has left the club after seven seasons. The French defender, who was on loan at Atlético de Madrid last season, has secured his release letter in exchange for a compensation of 1.5 million euros, a relatively low price considering the total savings that his departure represents.

This operation has allowed Barça to free up a significant portion of its salary mass, as the player had a contract binding him to the club until 2027, with a gross salary of 10.6 million euros per year. However, the Madrid club took on 70% of his salary during the loan, which facilitated his exit.

With the contract termination, FC Barcelona saves approximately 6.4 million euros annually, which represents a considerable relief in its current financial situation. Although the club had to pay a small amount to formalize Lenglet's departure, the long-term savings are evident.

The club's management is confident that this decision will allow them to return to the 1:1 rule of LaLiga before June 30, which would give them greater flexibility for future signings. Additionally, the club is expected to close the 24/25 fiscal year with profits close to 950 million euros, which could further improve its financial situation.

Lenglet's departure, although a complicated process, is seen as a victory for FC Barcelona, which seeks to balance its accounts and prepare for a more promising future. With the arrival of new talents and the release of high salaries, the club positions itself to face upcoming challenges with greater solidity.
