Ansu Fati starts a new chapter at AS Monaco with eyes on the future
The young Spanish talent, loaned by FC Barcelona, expresses excitement about his arrival in the Principality and dismisses any resentment towards his former club.

Ansu Fati has embarked on a new adventure at AS Monaco, where he will play on loan for the 2025/26 season. The Monegasque club holds a purchase option in his contract, which could turn this loan into a permanent transfer if expectations are met.

After successfully completing medical tests and participating in his first training session with the team, the Bisáu forward shared his thoughts on this new chapter in his career. "I am very happy to be here. I want to thank the club for believing in me. From the moment they called me and we had our first contact, I was clear: I wanted to come, I wanted to keep growing," Fati stated, showing his desire to contribute to Monaco's success.

No grudges against FC Barcelona

The young winger also took a moment to clarify that his arrival at Monaco is not motivated by a desire for revenge against Barcelona. "Revenge? Not at all. I come to enjoy football, which I haven't had the chance to do for a while. I come to enjoy, to contribute as much as I can, and hopefully we can achieve great things. Returning to the national team? That will depend on my performance," he candidly remarked.

Fati reflected on his departure from the Catalan club, where he did not receive the expected opportunities in the 2024/25 season. "Honestly, I believe changes are for the best. Of course, I will be here this season, but I will always be grateful to Barça. I had my experience in Brighton: many think it was bad, but it was a beautiful experience. I hope it will be different here and that I can have continuity and participate a lot if the coach sees it that way," he added.

Relationship with Lamine Yamal and the Barça locker room

When asked about his relationship with Lamine Yamal, the young player did not hesitate to express his affection for the emerging talent from Barcelona. "Yes, of course we have talked. We are always together in Barcelona and I know he cares about me and wishes me the best. It's mutual, and the truth is that almost the entire team has wished me luck. I wish them all the best, especially Lamine," he commented.

Fati also expressed optimism regarding his physical condition to tackle this new challenge at Monaco under the guidance of Adi Hütter. "Physically, I am doing very well. I finished the season training fully, so I feel good," concluded the player, who hopes to leave his mark on French football.

FC Barcelona has ensured that Ansu Fati finds a new home in this summer transfer market, a decision the player considers positive after not having the desired continuity in his previous loan to Brighton. With his eyes set on the future, Fati prepares to prove his worth in the Principality.
